Maria Bishop M.S.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Ms. Bishop has experience working with individuals, couples and adolescents. She has training and experi- ence in the following areas:
- Co-dependency and co-addictions
- Issues surrounding trauma, abuse and grief
- Life transitions and adjustments (marriage/divorce/midlife)
- Women and identity issues (health, wellness/self-care)
- Career change and development
- Integration of mind, body and spirit in the healing process
EDUCATION
Ms. Bishop received a B.A. from Alverno College in Psychology and Professional Communications. She earned her M.S. in Community Counseling from Mount Mary College. Ms. Bishop has pursued advanced training in the following areas: treatment for trauma related issues, the integration of body, mind awareness and art/play therapies.
PERSONAL
Ms. Bishop is an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society’s, “Look Good, Feel Better” program. While studying at the University of Calcutta (India) as an undergraduate, she spent six weeks working with Mother Teresa’s Charities providing hospice care to the dying. Ms. Bishop is married and the mother of two boys.
