Rebecca Plath M.A., LPC, CCSAS
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Ms. Plath is trained to work with individuals, couples and groups. Her areas of focus include:
- Intimacy disorders including sexual compulsivity/ addiction & co-addiction/co-dependent dynamics
- Issues related to trauma & abuse
- Facilitator of groups for partners of sex & love addicts
- Marital therapy
- Grief related to life transitions, trauma and death of loved ones
- Depression & anxiety disorders
- Spiritual & identity issues as they interface with one’s emotional growth & career path
- Missionaries and their “Third Culture Kids”
EDUCATION
Ms. Plath was trained as a Registered Nurse. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Cheltenham Gloucester, United Kingdom and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois. Ms. Plath received her certification as a sexual addiction therapist. She trained with Dr. P. Carnes at the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).
PERSONAL
Ms. Plath spent 23 years on two foreign mission fields (Africa and Asia). She served as the founder and manager of St. Andrew’s Counseling Service in Hong Kong. She is a wife and mother of four grown children.
